Thefts from cars on rise: police
Posted Feb 2, 2012 By EMC NewsSince the beginning of January, there have been about 60 reported thefts from vehicles parked in apartment building garages, including those with controlled access.
These incidents have primarily occurred in the area bounded by Woodroffe and Carling avenues, the Rideau River and Hunt Club Road.
Police are reminding residents to be vigilant about whom they let in their buildings, and to remove all valuables from their vehicles.
All Ottawa residents are asked to immediately report this type of incident to police. Community police centres have crime prevention tips, including the All Valuables Removed theft prevention program for vehicles.
